Cleary House is guided by the mission of St Patrick. St Patrick had a heart for hope and gave hope to others through sharing the gospel with them. While we remember the shamrock, the colour green, snakes and leprechauns, the real mission of St Patrick was to give hope by showing all people God’s love. Patrick knew how to engage with people. He went out on the street and worked with people who were seen as unclean and undesirable.
Cleary House is named after James Cleary who was a cattleman and an educator of Irish Catholic heritage. He was very active in the development of the Church in Maryborough, including donating the land on which the current church stands today.
